Launch of Research “Vulnerability to exploitation and trafficking of Bulgarian children and adolescents in Greece” (De la vulnérabilité à l’exploitation et au trafic des enfants et adolescents bulgares en Grèce)

In the framework of the project Mario “Protection of children on the move” jointly implemented by Terre des Hommes, Save the Children, ECPAT and Nobody’s Children Foundation, the Event, hosted and chaired by Member of the European Parliament Ms. Mariya Ivanova Nedelcheva (Bulgaria), will present the findings of the very recently published report titled : “Vulnerability to exploitation and trafficking of Bulgarian children and adolescents in Greece” (Antonella Invernizzi).

This report is the result of a one month street observation activity that took place in Thessaloniki, Greece, and aimed at identifying children of Bulgarian origin in street situation and their vulnerability to child protection issues. Based on field research techniques, the report addresses a series of specific recommendations towards governments, NGOs, International organisations, civil society actors and communities, and intergovernmental actors including the EU.

The aim of the event is to promote sharing of experiences on the issues of migrant children of European nationality found on the territory of another European country, whose situation often raises serious concerns and raise a debate among stakeholders, including European Union Member States or European institutions around the issue.

The event is free. Places are limited.

To attend please register before 13 May 2011 at tdh-europe3@terredeshommes.org and tdh-europe@iftdh.org.

The working languages of the conference will be English and French.
